As you may know, Laurie and I have a lakehouse. It is located at N34.42.501 and W82.58.369. In case you are wondering, that is in Seneca South Carolina on Lake Keowee. Lake Keowee is a Duke Energy lake.
We bought the lakehouse before we got married, and I spent 3-4 months renovating it. It certainly would have qualified for some type of HGTV show. It was a 1970's Brady Bunch train wreck! This is a before and after picture of the house.
Needless to say we did a substantial amount of work and love spending time there.
The gunkholer is another Brady Bunch train wreck! We purchased a slightly used 1993 Hunter 23.5 trailersailer for gunkholing at the lake. When we got her, she had the flashy teal and violet graphics on the side, along with teal bottom paint, and blue sail cover and interior vinyl, and no motor.
Once Laurie and I were finished, she had a sanded bottom with two coats of black Trinidad SR, new black sail/winch/motor covers, removed graphics, buffed and polished gunwales and topsides, new black covers for the cushions, and a brand new 8HP 4-stroke motor, along with many improved items, like batteries, battery gauge, windex, repaired rotted wood, and many more items.
These are a few after pictures.
Our new dock, along with the SeaDoo Challenger 1800 on the lift.
This is where I take the sailboat to wash the sides, and relax.
